Regional Reporter
The Diocese of Orlando needs reporters to write articles for diocesan related events and activities. The
articles should be accurate, interesting and educational. Transportation to Diocese of Orlando locations to write about events and activities. Safe environment training and background check clearance required. 4-8 hours per month.
Required Skills:
- Ability to write about Church teachings in an easy to understand manner
- Ability to accurately communicate information about people, places and events
- Ability to condense large amount of information into shorter texts while maintaining integrity of
information - Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling
- Knowledge of English language
- Excellent writing skills
Required Equipment/Software: Computer, word processing software and email
Regional Photography
The Diocese of Orlando needs photographers to take photos for diocesan related events and activities.
The photos need to be shared with diocesan Communications Office via Dropbox or other file sharing
service in a timely manner. Transportation to Diocese of Orlando locations to photograph events and activities. Safe environment training and background check clearance required. 3-6 hours per month.
Required Skills:
- Ability to capture the essence of an event or activity in a photo
- Ability to be discreet and respectful at liturgical and other reverent celebrations
- Ability to take photos from various angles and perspective with an eye towards diversity and
balance - Ability to take photos that are in focus, well composed and compelling
Required Equipment/Software: Camera that is capable of taking high resolution photos, flash and various lenses helpful. Email and computer.
Faith Fit Writer
The Diocese of Orlando has developed an app called Faith Fit to help people be healthy body, mind and
soul. We need a volunteer to write a daily inspirational message for the app that coincides with a
liturgical feast or solemnity, Scripture reading, seasonal occurrence and or papal encyclical. The
inspirational message should be approximately 200 words in length and include a tip or action related to
care of mind, body and soul. Commit to write one month of messages and submit a word document with messages two weeks prior to the start of the month.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Church and Theology
- Knowledge of English language
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to communicate Catholic Church teachings on the human person and the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
- Knowledge of good health habits including diet and exercise
- Knowledge of healthy interpersonal skills and relationships
